JT, why ya gotta hate?!?!

I just found out from Vi, that Justin’s been dissin my boy Taylor. That’s just wrong. I’m really pissed at JT now. I mean, what’s up w/ that yo?!

I mean, seriously, weren’t you in the Mickey Mouse Club?!?

JT, you used to be cool. I loved Justified. Yes, folks, I loved it. It was one of my fave albums of that year. I thought the whole album rocked & I listened to it straight through constantly.

Here’s what Justin said about Taylor:

“People think he looks so normal, and he’s so sweet and he’s so earnest, but he can’t carry a tune in a bucket. If [Hicks] has any skeletons whatsoever, if God forbid, he’s gay, and if all these people in Mississippi who voted for him are like [then he takes on a thick southern accent], ‘Oh my god, I voted for a queer!’ It’s just too much pressure. I have a strange relationship with that show. I despise it, yet I’m completely fascinated.”

This is from an interview in Fashion Rocks, a supplement to Vanity Fair magazine.

hopefully, Natalee’s case will be next

Dude, 10 years is a long time to wait. It’s just a shame that this guy didn’t confess just 3 months ago, before Jon-Benét’s mother died. Patsy Ramsey died in late June, of ovarian cancer.

You know how OJ got off? Michael Jackson got off? Gary Condit? While they were all acquitted ‘officially’, they were always regarded in a negative context.

Well, I know that ppl (including myself) have always held onto that slight suspicion of Jon-Benét’s parents. I know that poor Patsy (that’s what I’m calling her now, mainly cause I feel badly that I never fully believed her) prob got looks everywhere she went. She prob had ppl coming up to her in public, total strangers that didn’t know her, saying the most horrible things to her. I don’t know this for a fact, I’m just figurin.

It sucks that this took ten years. But at least it’s coming to an end for the family. I hope they find the person responsible for Natalee Holloway’s disappearance soon. I have a feeling that if this goes smoothly for John Mark Karr, it may help bring closure to the lives of others. If he gets a fair & speedy trial, & gets some points for co-operating, then whoever knows something about Natalee’s disappearance will just come forward.

I’m not saying that he should get off; I mean, he still eluded the law for 10 years. That’s a lot of miserable birthdays & holidays. I just think that each side of the story should be heard & taken into account, & as quickly as possible. I think it would set an example so that other’s would be more willing to come forward & confess to the countless unsolved murders/disappearances in this world, or at least this country. I think it’s more important that a family can have closure.

random rumblings

Don’t have much to say. Just a few thoughts on stuff (gripes, mainly). I’ve been pretty happy (like super-happy) all day long, & I think I wore the happiness outta me. I haven’t really had time to even read much news or anything (blogs) lately, but I’ve been catching up. Now I’m getting sleepy, but I thought I share what’s on my mind.

1. I’ve never liked Katie Couric. I now know I am so totally in the minority here. I didn’t realize how obsessed this nation is w/ her. I’ve always been an ABC news gal. I loved Peter Jennings, wish Elizabeth Vargas all the best w/ the birth of her baby, stayed up all night w/ Bob Woodruff when he was in the eye of the storm in Houston during Hurricane Rita, & respect Charlie Gibson.

The main reason I never liked Katie? B/c she wore waaay too much eyeliner. It was horrendous, I’m sorry, but I just couldn’t get past that. And if I managed to (not be so shallow) for 2 secs, she’d start w/ the giggling. It was too much. Diane Sawyer doesn’t giggle. She makes witty comments, jokes, & teases her colleagues, but def doesn’t giggle.

I thought that when Katie left Today, that she’d fade away, but I see her all the time & everywhere. And she hasn’t even started her gig yet!

2. Our fantastic gov’t lost (lost) the original recording of the 1st moon landing. This is gonna make all those ppl who say the moon landing is a hoax veeerrry happy.

3. I love Ani DiFranco, & I’ve heard about this poem she read at the recent NOW conference where she also announced her PREGNANCY! I really want to read this poem & have been searching online for the text this whole past week. But I just can’t find it anywhere. They just have the video, & I can’t watch the video of it, I want to see the text, so if anyone knows where to find it, let me know.

All I know was that it was a weird moment; & she cried throughout her entire speech. Here’s what Allison Kasic over at Independent Women’s Forum said about it:

To celebrate the moment, Ani read an original poem. I wish I could relay what the poem was about, but truth be told, Ani lost me somewhere between the “patriarchy causing war,” a bomb dropping in Hiroshima, and the streets of Manhattan. When DiFranco finished, NOW president Kim Gandy thanked Ani for her courage and pointed out that there wasn’t “a dry eye in the house.” Hogwash, I thought. That poem didn’t even make sense! But I looked around and there really were people crying. How anyone could make sense of such a poem, let alone be moved to tears, baffles me.

And that’s why I really wanna read it now.

they were willing to blow up their baby!

Can you believe that?!? You know the twarted air bombing attempt & how we weren’t allowed any liquids in the carry-ons? All they would say was “no liquids” & that they had arrested 24 ppl. We got no info.

Well, I’ve been busy, & I finally had a chance to check the news, & I saw that a husband & wife had mixed up chemicals into their 6-month infant’s milk bottle & that’s what they were using to blow up the plane.

You know when the story 1st came out w/ the whole “no more liquids” thing, I was wondering what they were doing about ppl w/ young children & infants. I thought for sure, ‘oh, I’m sure they don’t mean babies & their bottles, though’. But I guess they meant that more than anything else.

See, this proves that it’s better to breast feed!

On a related note, I saw this report on tv that Guardian Technologies had developed this security screening so that if you have 2 exactly same Coke bottles in your carry-on, as it goes through the x-ray, a red box goes around the one that is suspcious. Apparently they’ve been in talks w/ the TSA for a while now & had put in their bid. Personally, I think the TSA prob never would’ve followed through & actually signed up a contract w/ them before. The red-tape & beaucracy would’ve had them draggin their penny-loafers around ad nauseam.

I have to add this in; this is an absolutely horrifying tale. Completely unfathomable, to be sure. However, I can’t really post this w/out adding this article; it talks of how their friends say that there’s no way they could’ve done it. I guess time will tell. It certainly is scary how many ppl in this world are framed, or found guilty when they’re not. That being said, all of Jeffrey Dahmer’s neighbor’s said that he was nice & quiet too.

This last pic is of a table full of banned items at an airport in Salt Lake City. The only reason I’m even posting it is b/c of the can of easy-cheese in it. Um, who even eats this stuff, let alone takes it in their carry-on. I used to work in a grocery store through high school & would question anyone who came through my lane w/ that stuff. “Did you know that this can of Cheese-Whiz has anchovies in it?” Stuff like that. Most of the ppl put the cans back. & my Customer Service Manager-chick did notice that I consistenly had Cheese-Whiz in my returns.

no more liquids

I’ve seriously had no time to post recently. This will change soon (I hope). Plus, I haven’t had much to say. So much going on in my life that I really can’t just put to words at all. But I saw this story, & I know how often we all fly now, b/c it’s more efficient (esp w/ the price of gas); so I thought I’d give y’all a heads up if you were traveling anywhere.

As many of you must know by now, the Brit police have foiled* a mass murder bomb plot. Since the bomb in question was believed to be a ‘liquid chemical’; the US & UK have stepped up security. The result of this is that there is to be no liquids whatsoever. No beverages (water, pop, juice), shampoo, suntan lotion, creams, tooth paste, hair gel, etc.

I thought that as many ppl as possible should know, so I’m posting it. The following are related articles.

*not trying to make light of the situation, but I do like the word “foiled”. It is one of my fave words to use.

PhotoFriday # 4: private

This pic was actually not taken by me. It was taken in late June 2005 by my (then) 4-yr old nephew, while he was visiting. But I thought it fit cause not too many ppl are allowed to be this close to me.And no, I wasn’t expecting him to take a pic. And yes, it did blind me momentarily. I know these last few PhotoFridays have been a little sucky, but I’ll do better. I just haven’t had much time, & so I’m just trying to find something that fits.

I haven’t posted in a while cause I’ve actually been away for the last few days. And of course, before you go away somewhere, you’re running around preparing to go away. But I’m back now. Have a TON of stuff to catch up on, but back.

As always, click here to see other PhotoFriday pics.

bad joker

Why do they have to go ruin a good thing? I hate when there’s something I want to see, but it’s got someone I don’t like in it.

Like, Adrian Brody— I just don’t like the look of him. Nothing against him, it’s my own personal preference, I think he looks weird. He’s got the waist of a 14 year old girl.

I also can’t stand Sienna Miller in movies; mainly cause I can’t stand the idea that ppl are modeling themselves after trash.

And Halle Berry. Yes, I know, I know; everyone loves her. But she was a bitch to me at a party once, & so I haven’t like her since. Yes, it was in a dream I had; but she was very rude & disrespectful to me in the dream. I had to go out to the terrace of the penthouse apartment the party was in just to compose myself. So, now I can’t watch her in movies either.

Anyway, the point of this whole post is that Heath Ledger is gonna be in the new Batman movie. There were rumors floating around that Philip Seymour Hoffman might be the next Joker. But alas, it’s gonna be Ledger.

I love Batman movies. I especially loved Batman Begins. I’ve seen it about 5 times b/t December & February. It was definitely the most realistic & true to life Batman mooovie. We all know the real Batman had all that experience in the martial arts, & previous Batman movies just did not explore that. So, I’m excited to see Christian Bale doing Batman again w/ that same director-dude. But not so much w/ Heath. Although, I guess it’s only fitting since the Joker is my least fave (ie, least interesting) of the Batman villains. That’s another thing; there’s over 80 villains in the Batman stories, why does Hollywood always focus on just a handful of them. If you are interested in all things Batman, but don’t know where to look, check out this book. It’s how I became a Batman aficionado.
